As we lurch toward warmer days and leave the cold, bleakness of winter in the rear view mirror, we need beers that’ll compliment this gradual shift in climate.
Enter Blue Pool from Lacada Brewery, a New England IPA that comes in a 440ml can and has an ABV of 6.4%.
The pour reveals a hazy, dank but vibrant yellow beer with a brilliantly thick white head.
On the nose, you’re hit with orange, grapefruit and some fresh herbs.
The taste brings more of the same with a medium to light body, moderate carbonation and a slightly dry finish.
There’s a very faint hint of tart to this which is great but it’s not overly bitter so makes for an excellent sipper. Also, hints of pine and grass in the taste as well for good measure.
I’ve enjoyed this, another solid beer as usual from Lacada and I’d recommend grabbing a can or two of this for these brighter, more positive days ahead.
I’d give this 3.9 Bluebois out of 5
G’luck,
Seán
