We nipped up to Northern Lights on Ormeau Road, Belfast for a few brews and noticed some tasty local cans on the menu, as well as the epic Galway Bay brewery range.
Today, we’re checking out the Raspberry Slush Sour by Beer Hut brewing from Kilkeel.
This brew clocks in at 5% ABV and comes in a 440ml can.
I’ve enjoyed everything Beer Hut have put out so as you can imagine, I’m excited to check this out.
The beer is eagerly poured into the glass to reveal a light red raspberry colour with a small white head.
On the nose, you’re greeted with the touted raspberry right off the bat with a hint of malts coming through. But mostly you’re smelling fresh berries here with tart.
The taste brings more of the same with a slight carbonation and light body. There’s a little bitterness and sour to this but it’s not overpowering, it’s incredibly inviting and a really pleasant drink.
I notice that the brew doesn’t dry out the mouth in the same way some other sours of this type do, it’s thirst quenching and makes the tastebuds go wild.
I’ve enjoyed this and I’d happily have it again, check it out if you get the chance!
I’d give this 3.7 Slushybois out of 5
G’luck,
