Today, we’re checking out the Pump Up The Jam – Jam Doughnut Pale Ale by Welsh legends Tiny Rebel.
This brew clocks in at 5% ABV, comes in a 330ml can and has an IBU of 35.
I’m thinking this is going to be an interesting beer straight off the bat and can’t wait to get tucked in.
Will it capture the good feels of a jam doughnut and have the same qualities of a good beer? Let’s find out!
The beer gets poured into the tasting glass to reveal a deep amber murky colour with a small white head.
On the nose is… As you’d expect, a strong whaft of strawberry jam sweetness, sugar and some tart shining through.
The taste instantly hits you with the jam doughnut taste as touted by the label with malts and a bit of caramel present as well.
There’s a slight bitterness in the aftertaste which comes from the raspberry flavours in there.
The body was surprisingly light in this, I thought it would be more like the texture of the marshmallow porter by Tiny Rebel due to the doughnut being present.
All in all, I enjoyed this beer and I’d have it again as it was super refreshing, which is fantastic for the roasting hot weather we’ve been having.
I’d give this 3.6 jammybois out of 5
G’luck,
