Bán Witbier (Bullhouse Brew Co.)

Howdy – Happy Wednesday!

Today, we’re checking out the Bán witbier by brew legends, Bullhouse brewing company.

Straight away, I love the name as Bán is the Irish language word for White and it’s a playful take on its Witbier or ‘white beer’ style. Pretty cool!

The can is cracked and I head in for a little smell of the scents to be greeted by a sort of traditional belgian sort of orange peel aroma with a clean cut freshness that really gets the mouth watering.

The taste is more of the same with a bitterness of a bit of lemon tart coming through there. The carbonation is low enough to make it really thirst quenching and it’s got a nice medium to light body.

Straight away, I’m thinking this is perfect for this hot sunny day!

Bán is one of those beers that you find yourself having a battle to slow down, sip and enjoy the brew instead of just wolfing down a tasty beer.

As with all the brews of this style, I’d love to try it on draught with maybe the optional slice of orange peel rubbed around the rim of the glass to really bring out that fruity flavour.

All in all, I’ve enjoyed this, there was a little hint of spice in the aftertaste as well which kept the whole tasting experience interesting and a sharp bitterness that I loved too.

Another class beer from Bullhouse, can’t wait to see what they do next!

I’d give this 3.8 Bánnybois out of 5

G’luck,
Seán
