Speckled Stone IPA (Lough Gill Brewing)

How about that weather eh? Hope you all are having an excellent bank holiday weekend.

I decided to grab an IPA from Lough Gill brewing to have a cold sip in the park on this sweaty day.

This is the Speckled Stone IPA, it comes in a 440ml can and clocks in at 5% ABV.

I crack the tin and notice the grapefruit aromas straight away with clean cut citrusy notes present. It smells quite light and the aromas really get the taste buds going.

From the first sip, you’re greeted with those classic tropical fruit flavours we know and love from the IPA style of beer. There’s citrus, grapefruit and a bit of mango in the taste here.

What surprised me was a hint of malt biscuit coming through in the taste and just like a rug, it really ties the whole thing together.

There’s a faint bitter finish to this, a light carbonation and it’s got a medium to light body which makes it perfectly sessionable.

I’ve enjoyed this loads and I recommend it if you’re looking for a solid, refreshing beer for a warm sunny day.

I’d give this 3.9 speckleybois out of 5
