Galactic Pale Ale 2.0 (Stormtrooper Beer) #MayTheFourthBeWithYou

MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU

It’s Star Wars day so we thought we’d do an extra review this week.

This is the Galactic Pale Ale 2.0 Stormtrooper Beer which is a collab brew, read about it in their own words below:

A collaboration between The Sourceror Ltd and award-winning Vocation Brewery, Original Stormtrooper Beer is officially licensed from Shepperton Design Studios. Products developed under the licence are based on the actual moulds produced by Andrew Ainsworth, using vacuum forming technology, to make the iconic helmets and costumes back in 1976.

This is the 2nd version of the Galactic Pale Ale with the 1st being 4.2% ABV and this 2nd edition brew clocking in at 4.8% ABV, both come in a 330ml can.

So… Beer? I enjoyed the first edition of this brew immensely, as did anyone I spoke to about it.

We were surprised that there was a great beer inside this fantastic looking can as some movie items like this can be gimmicky, look great but not actually have a nice tasting product to go with it. How happily wrong we were!

The pour on this is an amber colour with a little thin white head. Straight away, you can smell the brew as it settles.

On the nose, there’s a big hit of hops, citrus, grapefruit, pine and it smells quite crisp.

To taste, there was a refreshing lemon flavour first that felt well balanced with the slight malty quality. The brew is bursting with fruity flavour and it’s really fresh.

The body here is medium to light with a light carbonation. The bitter finish gets the tastebuds running wild and you just can’t wait for the next sip.

This 2nd edition Stormtrooper Beer is the droid we were looking for.

I’d give this 3.9 Cloneybois out of 5

G’luck,
Seán
