Can’t Catch Me Imperial Gingerbread Stout (Heaney Brewing)

Happy April – you know… Every year, I always think of a great April fools prank in the days following the jokey day and forget about them by the time the next year’s April fools rolls round.

Well, my great prank ideas can’t be caught and neither can this brew from Heaney brewing. It’s the Can’t Catch Me Imperial Gingerbread Stout. That reference totally worked, so it did.

Off it goes into the pint glass to reveal an almost black classic stout colour with a dark brown head and a fair bit of carbonation can be seen around the sides of the glass.

On the nose, there’s the gingerbread coming through with a hint of roasted coffee and dark chocolate as well.

To taste, it’s got the spice of ginger with a hint of roasted chocolate. There’s a definite bready flavour in there with a medium body and a smooth mouthfeel.

I’d rate this 3.4 Leos out of 5

G’luck,
Seán
