Today, we’re checking out the Full Irish Single Malt IPA by 8 Degrees Brewery.
As you might have seen, back in the early days of CansAcrossTheWorld.com, we attended a tasting session of theirs with a few other beer fanatics in Belfast. It was fantastic to meet some of the team and try their brews!
But here we are now, a year or so later and trying out the Full Irish which comes in a 440ml can and clocks in at 6% ABV.
As you can see from the photo, I went straight up pint glass for this one which revealed that classic IPA hazy amber colour with a generous white head on top.
On the nose, you get treated to that malt as foretold in the name along with with hints of orange and caramel. There’s a certain dankness to the scent here and I can’t wait to get stuck in.
The brew hits you with all the malts, caramel, fruits and a little bitterness for good measure on the first sip. There’s a peppery spice lingering in there too which makes for a great tipple.
All in all, the carbonation is light with the body being medium so it really holds up the flavours well til the bottom of the glass – colour me impressed!
Really cool stuff from 8 Degrees here.
I’d rate this 4.1 Maltybois out of 5
G’luck,
