Citrus West Coast IPA (Galway Hooker Brewery)

Hey hey! I hope all is well with yourselves, here’s another beer review for you to check out.

This brew is the Citrus West Coast IPA by Galway Bay Hooker Brewery. It comes in a 440ml can and clocks in at 5.1% ABV.

I’ve had the Mango NEIPA style from Galway Hooker before and that was fantastic so I’m really keen on checking this out.

The beer pours a sort of dark hazy orange and has a generous enough white head as it fills up my tasting glass.

On the nose, there’s that touted citrusy goodness filling the air right away with notes of lemon and lime coming through. It smells so fresh and really gets the tastebuds going.

I head in for a sip and straight away get greeted with those fresh fruity flavours from before, as well as some orange peel coming through and a slight note of pine in there.

The carbonation is light and the body is quite smooth at the same time so it feels very sessionable but you’d need to remember not to hammer these down too quick as they’re 5.1% ABV per can. As with all great brews, sip and enjoy! 😉

So to sum up? This is another belter from the good people at Galway Hooker brewery and I can’t wait to pickup some more brews from them.

They seem to produce a lot of really solid, flavoursome brews with this Citrus IPA and the Mango NEIPA being beers I need to remember to grab during the summer weather.

I’d give this 4 West Toasts out of 5

G’luck,
Seán
