Desert Haze Pale Ale (Gipsy Hill)

This can arrived in a Beer52 box and it’s a collab between themselves and the good folk at Gipsy Hill. Remember Josh from Ranger by Gipsy Hill? Oh Josh, we hope you’re well brother. For those not in the know, we waxed lyrical about our love for the fact Gipsy Hill have their staff on the cans, nice little touch!

So… Beer? This 330ml tin clocks in at 4% ABV and it’s called Desert Haze, hazy pale ale. I pour the can into the wee tasting glass and notice the light golden hazy colour about it with a light white head.

On the nose, it’s got that hazy pale ale aroma we all know and love that generally consists of tropical fruits and citrus so not much to say there other than, if you’ve had anything hazy, you’re probably aware of this scent by now.

Anyway, what of the taste? On the tongue, it’s bursting with fruity, flavours including melon, grapefruit and a hint of orange as well. The carbonation here is very slight and it goes down as easily as an orange juice would. There’s a bit of bitterness to this as well that’s really pleasant but that gives way to a real thirst quenching tarty sweet finish.

All in all, this has been a wee delight to sip through. It’s a nice all rounder and really easy to drink.

I’d give this 3.7 Gipsybois out of 5
