#NoCraicNovember : 0% Pomelo and Grapefruit (LECH)

It’s day 9 of the annual Cans Across The World ‘No Craic November’ charity effort where we raise money for a chosen charity every year by giving up alcohol for 1 month.

This year, the chosen charity is Metal For Life who are an incredible mental health charity, you can donate directly to them on their Web Site https://www.metalforlifeni.co.uk/ or at their Pay Pal link here: https://www.paypal.com/gb/fundraiser/charity/3768593

The #NoCraicNovember train rolls on and today, we’re calling into the Lech station for an alcohol free Pomelo i Grejpfrut by Lech.

If you’ve been around Europe, you’ve most likely had or at least seen a Lech radler which are 2% ABV shandies that are infused with lemon, grapefruit and a few other flavours, they’re delicious!

But today, we’re having the 0% version of it and it comes in a 330ml bottle. Actually, the bottle itself is pretty cool and has a rigged grip on each side so you don’t drop it from your big sweaty holiday hands.

The lid gets popped off and I pour it into the tasting glass to reveal a hazy, lemon coloured liquid. On the nose, there’s heavy citrus, grapefruit and pomegranate smells present with a light summer fruits aroma coming out as well.

To taste, it hits you with that citrus punch flavour first with that bitterness that sends a delightful shiver up your spine. You know the one that makes the person beside you ask if you’re ok? That one! There’s a light carbonation here as if it’s a slightly fizzy fruit drink and then you get the grapefruit flavouring coming through.

To sum up, I’ve really enjoyed this. It transports me to sunny days of a summer time in Berlin, enjoying a radler whilst roaming the streets exploring and that’s a powerful mental scenario for any drink to conjure up. Well done Lech!

I’d give this 3.4 Pomelos out of 5
